Where to Play

Playgrounds, stroller-friendly trails, and short loops at our parks help everyone in the family enjoy spending time outdoors, so get out and start exploring – and don’t forget your camera!

Parks with Playgrounds

In Middlebury, Corson Riverwoods is a new spot for inclusive family fun. The Pollinator Playpath is a 1.5-mile trail with four themed playpods: “Hummingbird”, “Butterfly”, “Ladybug”, and “Honeybee”. Kids will feel like they’ve walked into Alice in Wonderland as they hum along with musical flowers, climb atop a giant caterpillar, hop on toadstools, zig-zag through honeycombs, and soar like a butterfly on colorful swings.

If you’re looking for in-town outside fun, Cobus Creek County Park in Elkhart offers a large playground conveniently located next to the parking lot and restrooms. For an extended play day, check out the nearby Sensory Garden, where visitors can explore the landscape through sight, smell, taste, and touch.

Just a hop, skip and jump off US-33, Ox Bow County Park offers multiple places to play, including sites by Fisherman’s CampHoney Locust, Cottonwood, and Ox Bow Haus. For parents seeking a more structured outing, consider reserving one of the park’s shelters for a fun family picnic day.

Stroller-Friendly Trails

Ox Bow County Park, Cobus Creek County Park, and the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail all feature paved or hard-packed trails, perfect for a stroller hike with the kids.
