The Elkhart County Parks serves the north central region of Indiana, home to cities including Elkhart, Goshen, Bristol, and Middlebury. The Department consists of seven parks, one historical museum, two nature preserves, two horticulture gardens, approximately 36 miles of trails, five playgrounds, 18 rentable shelters, two registered historic sites including a working 1832 grist mill, and more than 1300 acres of park land. It is the mission of the Park Department to enhance local quality of life; preserve the county’s cultural, historical and natural resources; and provide education and recreational opportunities.
