Yesterday, members of our Interpretive Team visite Yesterday, members of our Interpretive Team visited the Gene Stratton-Porter Historic Site in Rome City as they prepare for a future program on local, inspirational naturalists and explorers. They were guided by Tiffany Parker, Northern Regional Manager at Indiana State Museum & Historic Sites. Tiffany shared insights into the life and legacy of Gene Stratton-Porter. If you’re not familiar with Gene Stratton-Porter, she was a remarkable naturalist, conservationist, filmmaker, and prolific author. Her writings captured the beauty of the Limberlost Swamp and surrounding areas, inspiring generations to care about nature. She was also a trailblazer in the early conservation movement, helping to lay the groundwork for environmental stewardship in Indiana and beyond. #genestrattonporter #indianastatemuseum
