Weekend Bird Walk
Register nowOctober marks this season’s last opportunity to see migrating songbirds heading south for the winter. Join us on a casual walk seeking out these south-bound birds and enjoying up-close encounters with some of the Preserve’s unique year-round residents. Species we’re likely to spot during the 1.3-mile walk include late warblers and vireos flycatching in the trees, herons and kingfishers stalking fish, and raptors soaring overhead. All birding gear provided, but participants are encouraged to wear hiking boots, bring water, and come dressed for a late summer hike. The bird walk will head out at 9 a.m. sharp, so please plan accordingly.
