Wednesday Bird Walk: Boot Lake

While summer songbirds have flown the coop, late fall offers tremendous opportunities to see migrating and wintering birds of all kinds — from Sandhill Cranes and soaring raptors to a dazzling array of waterfowl, including Buffleheads, Hooded Mergansers, and Northern Pintails. After a short hike, we’ll head to the boardwalk to see the waterbirds in detail with the aid of our spotting scopes.

The group will head out at 8 a.m., so please plan travel time accordingly.
