John Funk Documentary Showing

February 11 at 1:00 PM

John Funk came to Elkhart in 1867 and began a publishing company. That company would produce the “Herald of Truth”, the only Elkhart County newspaper that gained a national readership. To celebrate Funk, and the Prairie Street Mennonite Church, which Funk established, the current congregation produced the documentary New Growth on an Old Tree: The Life and Legacy of John F. Funk (1825-1930). This film gives great insight into Elkhart’s history and illustrates how Funk’s contributions to his faith community still influence Elkhart County to this day.
