Ever spotted a tree with thorns and wondered, “W Ever spotted a tree with thorns and wondered, “What kind of tree is this?”

Chances are, you were looking at a locust tree—we have two types: the Black Locust and the Honey Locust.

Here’s how you can tell them apart:

THORNS – The Honey Locust has much larger, more dramatic thorns than the Black Locust.
LEAVES – The Honey Locust has doubly compound leaves, while the Black Locust just has compound leaves.
