Wednesday Bird Walk: Sparrows
Wrapped in woodlands, wetlands, and grasslands, River Preserve’s rich diversity of habitats attracts a variety of species, including an often-overlooked group of birds: sparrows. In March, our group will give these “little brown beauties” a closer look on a hike through the preserve, where we’ll explore their favorite haunts, and learn tips and techniques on picking them out. Come see some of these unique birds, like Fox Sparrows hopping in the undergrowth, bustling flocks of American Tree Sparrows, and whistling White-throated Sparrows.
The group will head out at 8 a.m. — please plan travel time accordingly.
Meet at Benton Spillway Shelter in River Preserve County Park, located one mile south of U.S. 33 on C.R. 31. in Goshen.
