Museum Matinee: Bristol Fruit Hills

In conjunction with the Smithsonian’s Crossroads: Change in Rural America exhibit on display, come hear the story about the Bristol Fruit Hills. Just south of Bristol, land was cultivated to grow a number of fruits and vegetables. Learn about why this area was primed for agriculture, and with the spreading of railroads in the mid-19th Century how the Fruit Hills became a huge producer for regional markets.
