Bird Language Lessons

The sound of spring birds may be music to your ears, but do you know the messages behind the melodies? From predicting when a hawk is about to fly overhead to finding a warbler hidden in the bushes, learn the secret language of birds in this “ears-on” class that will teach you the behavior behind the calls, and how to ID them by sound. The first part of the workshop will explore bird behavior, followed by a hike, where we will practice listening techniques and discover what birds we can find by using only our ears. Dress for extended activities outdoors.
