Jacquard coverlets illustrate an important chapter intextile history. From the simple repeating patterns to the highly figurative designs, coverlets were popular bed coverings in the 19th century, many woven right here in Elkhart County. Be a part of the opening of our new hallway exhibit displaying coverlets from the museum collection. Breakfast snacks and beverages will be provided while they last.

Join the Hiking Club and learn about the abundant trails and amenities offered by the Elkhart County Parks. Hiking Club meets on the third Tuesday of every month unless otherwise noted. Each month the Hiking Club meets at a different location and experiences a new trail. Sign up once and enjoy the entire 2019 schedule of hikes. In April we will hike a loop trail at Boot Lake Nature Preserve.This trail is 2.5 miles in length. The terrain is mostly flat.

Join a naturalist and explore Bonneyville Mill County Park through your dog’s eyes. Dogs walk at their own paces so signs will be placed along the path to find your way or stroll with the group. Water and doggy bags will be available for all dogs. All dogs must be on a leash and controlled at all times. Please meet at Feedlot Shelter in Bonneyville Mill County Park.

– FRIDAY IS SOLD OUT – Just in time for spring, learn how to identify birds simply by sound! This workshop will explore the ways birds use sound to communicate and provide “ears-on” training for picking out and identifying their calls.The first part of the class will be an indoor presentation, followed by a 1½ hour bird hike where we will practice listening techniques and discover what birds we can find by using only our ears. All birding equipment will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars, hiking shoes and dress for activities outdoors.

This workshop will be offered on both Friday (4/26) and Saturday (4/27) from 1–4 p.m.
