Treasure Island Park

Treasure Island is a 4 acre site located on the banks of the lower St. Joseph River. The park offers picnicking, fishing and canoe access to the river. Treasure Island is located in Elkhart, IN on County Road 16, 8/10 of a mile west of State Road 19.

Park Hours:
Gates closed November 30 - April 1
April, August 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
May, June, July 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
September 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
October 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.


Parks of the Future

The Elkhart County Park and Recreation Department manages other natural areas in the county. Though presently undeveloped these "parks of the future" provide valuable, undisturbed habitat for a variety of plant and animal species.

Wolf Lake Site

30 acres located on one of the few undeveloped lakes in the county. Wolf lake contains a variety of habitats from open meadows, wet woodlands, marsh and the lake itself. Presently there is no public access to the property. Wolf Lake is located two miles north of Goshen, IN on State Road 15.

Turkey Creek Site

 

23 acres located approximately two miles south of Goshen on Turkey Creek off of County Road 21. Presently there is no public access to the property.
