Cobus Creek County Park is our newest park located in the northwest corner of Elkhart County. Once farmland, this 84 acre site contains a variety of natural habitats from abandoned fields, woods and wetlands. Cobus Creek, a cold water trout stream runs through the property.

Hard packed and natural hiking trails

Cobus Creek

Cobus Creek is one of the few cold water trout streams in Indiana. The cold water, wooded banks and gravel bottom is ideal for supporting trout. Unfortunately the stream was diverted in the past reducing it’s quality. A stream restoration project is currently underway to help improve trout habitat.

Sensory Garden

The Sensory Garden is being designed for everyone who wishes to enhance the average garden experience by stimulating their senses. From the first blooms in early spring through the last scent of fragrant herbs in the autumn air, the Sensory Garden will be continually graced with the sweet scents, sights, sounds, tastes and textures of nature.

Cobus Creek Shelter

Capacity - 100  Fee - $125.00, Deposit - $100.00

Open-air shelter located adjacent to Cobus Creek and close to the fishing pier, playground area, hiking trails and restrooms. Shelter includes electricity, catering kitchen with sink, counter space, cabinets, roll top window with serving counter. Shelter also has picnic tables, grill and a fireplace (wood not provided). Handicap-accessible.
